I am much more confident in speaking Japanese after taking Global Village classes. I am also able to travel and sight-see in Japan more easily. When my parents came to J apan from the U.S., I took them around Kyoto a nd wasn’t nervous in asking about good site seeing spots. It felt good and my parents were impressed. I hope to eventually take the JLPT to me asure my Japanese ability and to have a great sense of accomplishment.

Currently, I live on base and use English everyday, but my dream is to live in Japan for a long time. I have always wanted to learn Japanese, however I never had the opportunity to use it. I now have this opportunity at Global Villag e. The comprehensive classes at Glob al V illage ha ve pr ovided me with pr actical experience, and my vocabulary in Kanji is increasing. My goal is to pass all of the JLPT levels.

What is the JLPT?

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) measures and certifies the Japanese language proficiency of those whose native language is not Japanese. Offered twice a year, comprehensive communicative competence is tested in three areas: Language knowledge (vocabulary and grammar), Reading and Listening; there are five levels (N5- elementary knowledge to N1-advanced knowledge). Our comprehensive courses and mock exams prepare you to ace the JLPT; following in the footsteps of many former Global Village students.

Special Focus Session

If you sign up for select courses, you may attend a special focus session once a month for free! 3 months course = 3 free special focus sessions= ¥10,500 value!

Global Village believes that while sharpening your linguistic skills is important, expanding your cultural knowledge is even more so. We want you to learn to navigate Japanese society by understanding manners and the range of appropriate behavior. In order to achieve this goal, Global Village offers special focus sessions, which aim at expanding the knowledge gained during your normal classes. Special focus sessions are independent, one day classes offered once a month, and focus on carefully selected topics.
